Então Bhīṣma, o grande e valente patriarca da dinastia Kuru, o avô dos combatentes, soprou seu búzio bem alto, produzindo um som parecido com o rugido de um leão, dando alegria a Duryodhana. PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO The grandsire of the Kuru dynasty could understand the inner meaning of the heart of his grandson Duryodhana, and out of his natural compassion for him he tried to cheer him by blowing his conchshell very loudly, befitting his position as a lion. Indirectly, by the symbolism of the conchshell, he informed his depressed grandson Duryodhana that he had no chance of victory in the battle, because the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa was on the other side. But still, it was his duty to conduct the fight, and no pains would be spared in that connection. O patriarca da dinastia Kuru podia entender o que se passava no interior do coração de seu neto Duryodhana, e, por sua compaixão natural por ele, tentou animá-lo, soprando bem alto seu búzio, fazendo jus à sua posição de leão. Indiretamente, pelo simbolismo do búzio, ele informou a seu deprimido neto Duryodhana que este não tinha nenhuma chance de ganhar a batalha, porque o Supremo Senhor Kṛṣṇa estava do outro lado.
