Bhagavad-gītā As it Is — Bhagavad-gītā Como Ele É EM PROCESSO << 1 - Observing the Armies on the Battlefield of Kurukṣetra >> << 1 - Observando os exércitos no campo de batalha de Kurukṣetra >> << VERSE 46 — VERSO 46 >> संजय उवाच एवम उक्त्वार्जुनः संख्ये रथॊपस्थ उपाविशत विसृज्य सशरं चापं शॊकसंविग्नमानसः sañjaya uvāca evam uktvārjunaḥ saṅkhye rathopastha upāviśat visṛjya sa-śaraṁ cāpaṁ śoka-saṁvigna-mānasaḥ WORD BY WORD — PALAVRA POR PALAVRA sañjayaḥ uvāca Sañjaya said evam thus uktvā saying arjunaḥ Arjuna saṅkhye in the battlefield ratha of the chariot upasthe on the seat upāviśat sat down again visṛjya putting aside sa-śaram along with arrows cāpam the bow śoka by lamentation saṁvigna distressed mānasaḥ within the mind TRANSLATION — TRADUÇÃO Sañjaya said: Arjuna, having thus spoken on the battlefield, cast aside his bow and arrows and sat down on the chariot, his mind overwhelmed with grief. Sañjaya disse: Arjuna, tendo falado estas palavras no campo de batalha, pôs de lado seu arco e flechas e sentou-se na quadriga, com sua mente dominada pelo pesar. PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO While observing the situation of his enemy, Arjuna stood up on the chariot, but he was so afflicted with lamentation that he sat down again, setting aside his bow and arrows. Such a kind and soft-hearted person, in the devotional service of the Lord, is fit to receive self-knowledge. Thus end the Bhaktivedanta Purports to the First Chapter of the Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā in the matter of Observing the Armies on the Battlefield of Kurukṣetra. Enquanto observava a situação do inimigo, Arjuna ficou postado na quadriga, mas estava tão aflito pela lamentação que tornou a sentar-se, pondo de lado seu arco e flechas. Uma pessoa que tem tanta benevolência e compaixão, quando passa a servir ao Senhor, qualifica-se para receber o autoconhecimento.
